I thought it was really good. The only real problem with me was in the bar it was a little confusing who was talking when, but over all great. Its good to see the other side of the spectrum compaired to my title.

Hey Joel!
I just read Battleforce #0.
Here's my review.
The story opened quite strongly. I liked the bar scene and thought the interchanging between the bar dialogue mixed with the TV documentary worked quite well.
The dialogue of the characters was nicely done too. The main characters, Ace and Blaster, had their own speech patterns.
While I enjoyed this story there were some things I'd like to critique.
The story's length was almost too long in my opinion. I thought the opening was excellent but as the story kept going, I found it to be too lengthy.
Now I don't think the story dragged on at all. That's not what I'm saying. I mean the the story itself would have worked better if condensed or possibly broken up into another issue(s).
The cast of characters. There were a lot of people mentioned and at times I was losing track of who was on what team. Not totally confused, just slightly.
With that being said, I love that the story was basically told from the point that the Battleforce team existed some years ago, and now the tale picks up after the team is no more. This worked really well versus if you had Battleforce starting at the very beginning, just forming for the first time.
You feel like you jumped into the action, right from the beginning which was really nice.
The concept was quite neat. I liked all the teams and counter-teams, and I'm sure they'll be fleshed out more with each issue.
So again, fantastic start to this series! Having the TV documentary over the entire story was truly unique, enjoyable, and a clever way to tell the back story.
Watch the length in future issues. Especially when introducing new characters, especially a lot of them. Giving us too much in one story will lead to confusion for the reader.
Great fight scenes especially towards the end, keep it up.
Another wonderful hit for the Camelot section! You guys are starting the ORIGINALS off with a bang!

I liked it too, though at times it got to be a little comfusing what was going on, who was on what side, etc. I thought it was a tad too long, but it wasnt a big deal. I know with my titles, i have to make some issues longer than others to take it where it needs to go.
The TV idea, it was good, but I'm a little upset, cause I had planned on using a similar device in one of my other titles, but I guess that just confirms that great minds think alike. LOL.
Great job!

Sorry about that, JT.
The Battleforce #0 is a bit long, I admit. I simply had a lot of Backstory to set up before I start introducing the new team. The difference in this and my Titans Tomorrow is that I've been working on Battleforce for many, many years. The characters are set in my head, and I don't have to stop to really think about what is next. I just wrote BF#1 in about three days, and it is a shorter issue. Many of the characters mentioned in the documentary are there to establish their presence, but they will be background characters. As far as the original Battleforce, only some of those guys can even come back, and only Ace will be prominent. I will be introducing quite a few characters in the early issues, but hopefully I will juggle them well.

Wow. Okay.
There is a lot of information in this first issue. I read it slowly, so I could keep track of the characters, but the problem (which you alluded to) is that you know these characters; they're your creations. To the average reader like myself it was almost overwhelming with the sheer number of people you introduced. I realize there's a lot of backstory to cover but maybe you could have brought it along more slowly. The constantly changing verb tenses confused me as well.
That said, I read each fight sequence and judged it on its own merits, and I have to say they were well-written and exciting. And on the whole I could follow what was going on. The story length didn't bother me.
I'll definitely be along for the ride and I'm looking forward to next issue.

I agree with the others. It got me interested I'm on board for number one. One little pet peive is the bar guys were bought off the game for one round of beer. You must not be much of a sports bar guy (that's a good thing ) If that was my Steelers or Sabres game that Was being delayed I would have taken down Blaster

I liked it quite a bit, the characters are interesting and the history of the Battleforce is very good. I did think it was a bit long, especially for a zero issue, and it was sometimes hard to distinguish who's talking on the TV and who isn't. I liked the the TV news reports, however, as they offered more about the history behind Battleforce. There, happy now?

Yeah, that's pretty much the idea. #0 set up the backstory so #1 could get to the actual current situation and formation of the group. That's why #0 was so long and why I didn't want to split it up. I wanted #1 to get the ball rolling and not need a lot of explanation or flashbacks.

I liked this one a lot, more than #0. This one was much easier for me to follow and I was able to get into each character's unique situation.
It felt to me like an episode of "getting the band back together". I was able to invest some care for the various heroes and they all seemed interesting to me, not a dud in the bunch. The fight scenes were well-written and the careful descriptions of each character allowed me to visualize them.
Now it seems like we're getting to the meat of the story. And I'm intrigued to see what happens when the whole team gets together and what kind of conflicts that brings about.
Now I'm getting hooked. Good job.

This issue was far superior to the previous one. I felt more involved in the story. As more personality shows on characters the more attached I get. I like this one
