Battleforce #2:
Machine Maker has struck fast and hard, taking out two of the heroes against him. For Ace and Justice, this could mean 'checkmate', but there are new players taking the field. Who's side are they on?

The team is coming together and we already see the different personalities of the members, how they mesh and bicker with each other. It will be interesting when the whole Battleforce gets together to see how they function as a team.
If the bad guys could get their act together as well there could be a sort of "anti-Battleforce", and there could be a MAJOR clash on the horizon.
Thus far I like Ace and Perseus as characters but as I get to know them all better we'll see if that will always be the case.
A suggestion: have an addendum, sort of like a who's who to keep track of the various characters, their powers and real identities. It would make it easier for me to go back and refresh my mind as to who exactly everybody is.
I wanna see what happens next.

Thanks for the feedback. I do want to let everyone know that not all of the characters that fight the Techno-Warriors in #3 (yes, there is indeed a huge fight on the horizon) will be in Battleforce once the group is official. Justice is too busy with his government work, and Shield will be sort of a reserve member because he gets around and won't always be around to respond. The six central members are the one's pictured in my Battleforce thread in the artwork section, with one more member to be introduced in #4. Of course Perseus and Shawnee are/will be part of the group, since I'm spending a lot of time with them.
Yes, I will be opening a Who's Who/bio section for Battleforce. While the actual written bios won't be there right away, I want to post at least pictures for all of the combatants, heroes and Techno-Warriors, by the time #3 comes out so everyone can know what the characters look like. I plan to work on all of my bios for characters (for all of my titles) during the break in June.
I know it is a funny way to go about it, but since this is our own, new, shared original universe, I decided to take my time bringing the group together. Battleforce will not officially become a team until probably around #10-12 or the Annual. They will all have met and worked together by then, however.

Nice fight! This one's pace was the best. Smooth fun issue. I starting feel the creepiness of Maker. Keep up the good work

For such a huge battle, your descriptions were strong enough that I was able to keep track of who was fighting who. Great fun, and Battleforce emerges victorious. But Machine Maker and Blaster are still out there...
I liked how you recapped and summarized the Techno-Warriors before the big fight. It really helped me to remember who was who. And I suspect Perseus will be in for quite a tussle himself.
This title is very entertaining and chock-full of action. Every issue I get a better feel for the characters, though I'm kind of partial to Magari, because of her real name. I think she's my cousin or something.

For those who enjoy Battleforce (and those who start), I've added Battleforce Files, where I'll post pictures of the characters so everyone can keep them straight.

Hey Joel (glippernip)!
I just read Battleforce #1 ((sorry I'm a bit behind here)).
As others have stated, this issue is a much more appropriate length than the #0 issue.
I've been looking forward to this series. Even though I just read issue #1 today, I still remember the plot and some of the characters from issue #0 from almost three months ago! That is a testament to your good writing.
Okay, I don't have any real complaints about this issue. The only thing I feel I'm missing is knowing what the characters look like in their superhero suits. Now I know you gave us their images in the files section and even told us what everyone was wearing, but since these characters are all brand new, it's taking me some time to remember what their outfits look like.
This is NOT a complaint against you. There's not much you could do differently. Even if you spent five full paragraphs on each character's superhero costume, I still don't think I could "see" it fully without it being drawn for me. Just wanted let you to know from a reader's perspective, that's all.
With that said, I thoroughly enjoyed this issue!
Again, unique in my opinion to have a previous super-hero team that disbanded and a new one seems to be taking its place. I love this concept. The story has instant depth to it and it feels like a lot already happened, you know?
This is definitely one of those series I keep reading and saying to myself, "this would be really cool if it were an actual comic!". One day it just might!
All the characters have real personalities to them. You can tell you've thought about these people for a long time before this series launched.
The DM gnome meets the sci-fi owner scene was funny to read.
I also enjoyed that you're letting us all know what everyone looks like. It does help.
Another strong issue to a strong series ((and this is only issue #1!)). Will definitely keep reading!!

Battleforce #4:
An arch-nemesis of Perseus that shouldn't exist has suddenly emerged, a being every bit as strong as the hero himself. How can Perseus deal with his equal? And prepare for the pulse-pounding debut of...Magic Woman???

Great battle between Perseus and Shark. A clash of the titans. I also like the inserted drawings that give us a clearer picture of who we're reading about.
I also enjoy the interactions between the various heroes. Is Battleforce an official group or aren't they? Interesting that Ace would deflect the media buzz surrounding them.
And more characters coming out of the woodwork. Magic Woman. I like the little touches of humor you throw in. I can say I'm getting more hooked with every issue.

The characters are starting to develop nicely. I'm growing attach to Perseus and I get a kick out of Magic Woman. Although the last issue was my favorite so far. This issue is probally my second fav. Good job

Thanks for the kind words. With the intro of Windstorm, all of the major heroes have been seen. Battleforce is not yet an official group, but will be as of #8. Of course there will be more villains, but they will come out more slowly.
Magic Woman was actually the character's name once upon a time, when I was younger. As an adult, when I started to update the character, I realized how ludicrous the name and outfits really were. I thought using the name and one of the costumes would be funny in this situation.
Right now, the next few issues will be driving the series toward the official forming of the New Battleforce. I hope everyone sticks around for the ride.
