The ground shakes beneath the denizens feet. Their world is doomed. No one saw it coming. Well, almost no one. Jor-El warned the world counsel of the coming disaster. They would not listen. They're listening now, he thinks as he enters his lab. Jor-El's wife, Lara sits, rocking their baby. Seeing her husband enter, Lara knows it's time to say good-bye. She kisses her baby and places young Kal-El in a rocket.

The ship hisses as the cryogenic gas engulfs the young boy as the rocket's engines roar, blasting the shuttle out of the lab. Jor-El and Lara watch as their only child is sent away. As the rocket soars out of the atmosphere, the planet of Krypton explodes in a flash of green light. The ship blasts through the vastness of space, until it comes to its destination. This destination is Earth, but something goes wrong. The rocket goes to another place. A place were agony and darkness reign so much that it can only go by one name.

Apokolips.

This planet, is not covered by green grass and beautiful trees. The water is not there and the human emotions of love and forgiveness are absent. The rocket zooms in the docking bay of the emotionless planet but an emotion does sweep over the young baby. The emotion of fear. The baby’s ship lands hard in the bay and soldiers surround it. A man with a purple outfit lifts the lid to the ship and reaches down. His face is old and wrinkly. His hand is rare and greasy and his nose was squashed as if someone had punched him many times over and over again. The man picked up the baby and walked with him. They walked through hallways and large rooms that were filled with bald, human looking people who had faces of fear and regret. The man and the baby pass through one more hallway and then they are in a large room with a giant throne in the center. A large window is behind the throne and it shows the dark world. Woman with little or no clothes on sit around the room.

On top of the throne sits a man, with blue body armor and light bluish, purple skin. He is toned and in good shape. His young face is cracked and fearless. The man carrying the baby stops and bows in front of this man. He then speaks. "My Master Darkseid. This has landed inside of the docking bay. It came with these." My man hands over a big piece of red cloth with a large yellow “S” on the top of it and a rock that resembles a crystal.

The man called Darkseid speaks. His voice is deep and menacing. "Ah. Kryptonian, and a Sunstone Crystal. Was there any notice on who he is?"

The man in purple says only one thing. "Kal-El."

"Well then," says Darkseid."It looks like I have a new apprentice."

8 Years Later...

The boy who feel from the sky falls to the ground. Blood rushes from his mouth as the one he calls his father and master stands above him, blood staining his hand. The boy that has come to be known as Kal-El, Destroyer of the People, is trained to be the heir of Darksied. Kal-El has been trained to hon his birth power. Strength & speed would help the boy counquer the weak and become a god.

Everyday, he and Darksied train for the future of the universe. Today is a special day. It is different for it is the day that Kal-El has found a new gift, given to him by the gods. He looks up at the man that raised him from a baby and heat beams shoot from his eyes. Darkseid chuckles and blockes it with his hands. They are not developed enough to harm anyone. Another thing for them to work on. Darksied puts his hand down and shoots his own heat beams at the boy. The boy screams in agony as a ' D ' is seered into his shoulder. The screaming stops and the lesson continues.

4 Years & 364 Days Later...

This eve the boy turns 13. His powers seem to grow more and more. Strength, speed, heat vision, X-ray vision, freeze breath, super hearing and near invulnerability. Darkseid has trained the boy well. His way of thinking is one of a true warrior.

No mercy. No regret.

This night would be most enjoyable for the boy for this night he turns a man. His first woman and his first drink. Darksied would give him bountiful treasures for such hard work and loyalty. All of this would be his if not for the war. The locals to Apokolips, or the Lowlies, have taken it upon themselves to try and take over Darkseid. Darkseid watches as the boy who came from the sky rips apart and melts the rebels. He will be rewarded even more now.

5 Years Later...

Eighteen years old and he is already more powerful than they ever could imagine. His flight ability came in on his sixteenth birthday. He rolled over in his bed and saw the woman that he had swooped off of the street. She was sleeping for the night’s activities had made her tired. She cried and begged but he didnt care. He took what he wanted and he can, for he is a god and gods don't have rules. He went into the main throne room after throwing the girl out. Darkseid looked at him with anger in his eyes.

"I heard you had a woman here last night, Kal-El. There was quite a racket I was told. Screaming and begging but there was no relent."

Kal-El looked at Darkseid and smiled. His black hair hanging to the side and his chest stuck out in pride. His blue eyes shimmered. "Yes there was, Father. A great amount of tears and agony on her part."

Darkseid was by Kal-El now. He grabbed him by the back of his hair and yanked his head up to his mouth. He spoke. "Now you listen to me, boy. I say what you do. If you want women, you get women, but you have to EARN it. DO you understand?"

"Yes, Father. I understand completely."

Darkseid let him go. Kal-El's black hair covered his eyes and his chest was sucked in in shame. His eyes were looking at the floor. He was like a child who had done wrong. Darkseid went back to his throne.

"Get out of my sight, Kal-El."

With that, he left. His black robes flowing behind him. Darkseid sat in silence until the man in the purple robe came from the shadows. Kal-El had come to know this man as Desaad. He took care of everything that concerned Darkseid and Kal-El. He came to Darkseid's side and spoke. His voice was low and raspy.

"What do you purpose we do, Master?"

"Now that his training is complete and he knows his place, phase two can now be completed."

A computer screen dropped from the side wall and a planet appeared on it. The planet had blue oceans and green and brown landscapes. Darkseid spoke again. "Earth is his destination and it will be there that we can measure his full potential."
