Present Day
Three identical taxi cabs pulled up to the Xavier Institute. The three doors opened simultaneously and three young people stepped out. These were no ordinary children. One was a blond haired boy about fifteen years old. Despite the temperature his breath was still visible. The second was a brown haired girl of the same age. The third had no physical attributes available from under their hood. A voice boomed in their heads.

After a brief survey of the estate they entered the mansion. They amazed at the inside of it. From the top of the steps walked in an older man wearing ruby sunglasses. Attached to his arm was a beautiful red head. As they walked hand and hand down the steps the older man spoke up.
“Welcome to the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. I’m Scott Summers. Please follow me.” They all followed him to a round corner. He pressed on the wood and it opened up to reveal the inside of an elevator.
“Wow!” exclaimed the young boy as they stepped in. The doors closed behind them.
“While we are waiting to reach the sub-basement, why don’t you all introduce yourselves?” he asked.
“Sure, I’m Bobby Drake,” said the blond haired boy.
“Hey, I’m Kitty Pride,” the girl muttered.
“And you?” Scott put his hand out to the third visitor.
“I’m Kurt Wagner, but I’m not much of a hand shaker,” he said in a thick German accent. The door opened to reveal a silver lined corridor. The kids again marveled at the corridor. They walked down the long hallway until they stopped in front of a large double door. Scott reached out and imputed a code into a keypad next to the door. It slid open to reveal a woman and a young man standing beside a man in a wheelchair.
“Greetings, and welcome. I am Charles Xavier,” said the man bound in the wheelchair in a voice that seemed vary familiar to them. “I see you already met Scott and Jean. This is Ororo Monroe.”
The women stepped forward.
“And another new student, Peter Rasputin.”
The boy stepped forward. The strange man looked strait at Kurt and gave a little smirk.
“It’s alright, Kurt, you can be yourself here. No one here will judge you,” the Professor nodded.
Kurt shed his coat to reveal a blue demon. “I know I’m hideous,” he said shamefully.
“Nonsense,” Jean finally spoke up.
“Yeah, you’re the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. You know, besides me,” Bobby smirked. Everyone nodded in approval.
“Now, down to business,” the professor started. “As some of you know everyone in this room carries with them a special gift, and with this special genetic code we have been dubbed by the public “mutants”. For being different we have been constantly hassled by others. This has most recently lead to mutants retaliating in dangerous ways. This is why I established this school; to teach mutants to control their powers and use them to help others and not to harm them, but sadly some mutants don’t agree with this. That is why every school year I take who I feel are special students and enlist them in a special class. This class is permitted to help stop this war against humans and mutants.”
“So, what’s the deal? Why are you telling us this?” asked Kitty.
The reason I’m telling you this is that you have been chosen to join these... X-men.”
“Whoa!” Bobby and Kitty exclaimed at the same time.
“Really, me?” asked Peter.
“Mein God!” Kurt awed.
“Now that that’s settled. Scott, Jean, Ororo, could you show our new students the Danger Room.”
“’Danger Room’?!” Kitty asked worried.
The Professor just smiled at the new recruits.
