Chloe Sullivan sneaks into the warehouse. It’s been awhile sense she’s been in the field. As she goes further into the warehouse she looks at the ring. It’s been a lifetime ago sense she’s seen it. This is the evidence she needs to prove to herself that that night in Smallville so many years ago really happened and wasn’t just made up. When Superman came onto the scene it convinced her that what she remembered was real, but the ring actually confirms it.
What does this “L” stand for, she wonders.
Focus Chloe. Clark needs you. She continues down into the basement and sees the former Man of Steel chained. “Clark!”
“C... Chloe...?” questions Superman.
Chloe hurries over and takes out a mini torch to cut through the chains. “Remember that Washington job, I told you about? I run a secret branch that monitors extraordinary beings on Earth.”
“And you... know?”
“Ever since that night in Smallville,” she states as she frees him.
Superman rubs is wrists. They are actually bruised. “What night?”
But before Chloe answers. “Well, well, well.”
Chloe and Superman look over and sees Torval with a gun aimed at them.
“Hello, Director Sullivan.”
“Your psychos have took over the city. I think its time to end this,” Chloe states.
“I will deal with Emerson. But the man at your side is also a threat which must be taken care of. And right now, it will take only one bullet.”
Freeman pulls the trigger, but in an instant Parasite is between Freeman and Superman, the bullet bouncing off him. “Hello, Dr. Freeman. You weren’t gonna kill my meal ticket, were ya?”
“Rudy, this must end! Come to your senses!”
Rudy walks slowly up to Freeman. “I have my senses, as well as many others.” Rudy looks on at Torval’s pocket, smoke beginning to come from it. “No inhibitor device for me.”
Clark’s noticing they’re distracted and looks around him, looking for anything he could possibly use to stop Parasite. His eyes fall on a generator and he grins as he looks over at Livewire starting to stir.
“Freeman... you turned me into this... and now you want to cage the beast?” Parasite grabs Freeman and begins to feed. “Mmmm... delicious.”
“Now!” yells Superman.
That’s when a surge of electricity surges from Livewire into Parasite.
“AARRRGHHH!!!!” screams Rudy and Torval together.
“Take it all Leech boy!”
“Livewire, enough! The feedback will kill Freeman!”
“Back off, Blue!” and she zaps Superman, blasting him backward.
“Cl... Superman!” calls out Chloe.
“I’m... I’m alright.” Superman gets to his feet. “I’m surprisingly okay,” he states smiling.
“You jerkoff! You don’t double cross Livewire!”
Superman then rushes Livewire, breaking the current. “I said enough!” he says pinning her to the floor.
“Oooo. The boy scout likes it on top.”
“Livewire, I won’t tolerate killing.”
Sparks begin to shoot from Livewire’s body, yet Superman does not let go. Doesn’t even flinch.
“Ahhh!” Livewire screams as suddenly her body converts to pure electricity, and zaps out from the room.
“Gone.”
Chloe kneels beside Torval and Parasite. “The doctor’s dead. I’m unsure about Parasite. He looks alive but its too dangerous to check by hand. Either way, he doesn’t look like much of a threat...”
“Which leaves...Polaris. Can you send for...?”
“Way ahead of you. I’ll take care of Parasite and Freeman. Now, go, this looks like a job for
Superman!"
