Across town, the President enters his safehouse, escorted by a dozen secret service agents. He’s taken to his room and left alone. Turning on the lights, he finds he’s not alone. “Owl... Owlman...” “Now,” Owlman says into his communicator as he pulls out a thin, almost invisible, wire. Before the President can call for help, the Owl, with one swift motion, slices the wire clean through the President’s throat. —

J’onn and Ultraman are locked in battle above the White House. “You’ve picked the wrong time for an invasion, buddy!” J’onn grins, his sharp fangs showing. “No,” he says, “we picked the perfect time.” “Fire,” the Operator says over the Syndicate’s ear pieces. “They’re weakness is fire.” Ultraman grins, his eyes turning red. A second later J’onn’s cloak catches fire. “NOOOOO!!!!” he screams. “Burn,” Ultraman says, “make them burn.” Ultraman uses his heat vision to engulf the entire White House lawn. Johnny Quick (the real one) begins running so fast he creates trails of flame everywhere he goes. Power Ring creates green flame blasts he hurls at the Martians. Napalm and Flamebird do what comes natural. Frostbite sits back as she watches her lover, Green Flame fry the invaders. Within an hour, every last Martian is dead. Those that tried to escape didn’t make it. The Syndicate chased them down and destroyed them. The silence that fell after the fighting ends is interrupted by Owlman, speaking through a loud speaker on the roof of the White House. “Citizens of Amerika,” he booms, “your leader is dead.” He then throws the head out onto the still burning lawn. “We are the Crime Syndicate of Amerika and now... we are Amerika. But first, we must get rid of the old.” Owlman gets picked up by Superwoman, just before Captain Power and Mighty Mary crash through the White House, busting up every support beam they can until the once grand home of the ruler of Amerika is no more. “We welcome all challengers,” Owlman tells them. Ultraman gives the crime king of Gotham stern look. Something tells me he knew more than he told us...—
